Two chimp traffickers arrested, baby chimp rescued

Following information provided by the CCC in Conakry, two traffickers  were arrested there and caught red handed during a joint operation of the INTERPOL NCB, the Ministry of Environment and GALF.  It seems that one of the traffickers was involved in working in chimpanzee conservation. According to the investigation of GALF, the traffickers were part of a network supplying chimpanzees from the Fouta region. Saidou and Bangoura  coordinated the action. The dealers were placed in custody and will be referred to the prosecutor Monday. The chimpanzee was placed under the responsibility of the Conservation Centre Chimpanzees and will join the sanctuary tomorrow.
