Arrest of 3 major traffickers of ivory

Following investigations carried out by TALFF and l'Unité Mixte de Contrôle des conteneurs and l'Office Central de Répression du Trafic Illicite des Drogues et du Blanchiment (OCRTIDB) 2126.3 kg of ivory tusks were seized in Lome on January 29, 2014 at the Port of Lomé. The seized contraband belonged to the traffickers arrested earlier. Two of them were Togolese, the third man was Vietnamese.

Naftali Honig at Great Apes Summit

An estimated 3,000 great apes are lost from the wild to the global illicit live trade each year, and many wind up smuggled, shipped, and sold. Naftali Honig runs the wildlife enforcement project PALF in Congo, together with other activists they have set up a new organisation - Eagle Network which spans 6 African countries.
